[s-cars] Rust free not

Folks,

I will take my tail- gate into the dealer (note my already respectful tone)
on Thursday.  

My only question is; what is the definition of “perforation?”  My rust is
about 10mm or so above the RR tail light.  

Above the tail light, the sheet metal wraps around back about the same 10mm
where some sort of sealer is applied to the seam.

So there is about a 30mm length of rust on the back side on this seam and
then the same length of rust bubbles on the outside above the tail light.

The rust obviously goes all the way through but there is not yet a complete
hole.  The body shop guy called it perforation and incurable except via a
new tail gate.

If they say it’s not yet bad enough, I would guess “perforation” could be
encouraged over the next four months left on the 10 year wty.  

I got to believe they hate old audi’s coming in requesting warranty service
but hey they made it part of the deal and now I think the new deal is 12
years.
