[s-cars] Oil Vapour Catch Cans - Any recommendations

Sounds very interesting Brian... was thinking about this last night, thanks for clearing my head of work ;-) from what I've seen/read of Trevor's work I'm sure it's top notch... however I must ask, is there enough air flow (pressure) to create a "centrifugal" force?

Dave doing some surfing last night (thank again for the distraction guys...) I came across this article in Autospeed you might find interesting: http://autospeed.drive.com.au/cms/A_1101/article.html

and here's a "aircraft" quality item, albeit very expensive: http://www.m-20turbos.com/breather.htm

This part of the web site is particularly interesting... http://www.m-20turbos.com/separator_facts.htm according to this web site "pressures coming off the crankcase could not blow out a birthday candle, much less set up a spiral flow powerful enough to sling out the oil." so perhaps Trevor's design works well not because of the centrifugal force but because it's a two stage (2 cans in one) design, which seems to be the premise for this design although with more stages...and more coin. Yes, I know... not everything you read off the web is true!

Cheers, /Jamu.

P.S. Trevor, I cc'ed you... cause it's your design... and I didn't want your ears burning ;-)

Guys, guys, guys,
BTDT. These breather bottles don't work. You NEED a
centrifugal oil separator. Air/oil goes in at an angle
at the top, spins around in a double walled cylinder,
oil drains back to the block and air goes out through
a filter or into the exhaust. Trevor Frank built one
for me. I have a CAD drawing.

Anybody willing to step up on the manufacturing
end?????

Oh, btw, it works like champ.

Lemme know
bb
