[s-cars] A/C retrofit- is it silly?

I've done it. It was no big deal and everything worked when I got done.
The problem I had was that I was fitting AC into an originally non-AC car.
So the vents and plumbing were missing and so were a lot of things. By the
time I got done I had to buy a larger fan, the larger radiator, a different
power steering pump...and had to make vents and plumbing out of hardware
store parts. The AC worked but never worked great.

If you are starting with a car that had AC at one time, then it should be
quite easy to put it all back the way it was. I would take it all from a
salvage yard, as you mentioned.

good luck

Listers-
I'm looking at a daily driver car (a VW) that has had its air
conditioning removed- totally. I would need to buy the compressor,
condenser, evaporator, receiver/dryer, all hoses, brackets, pulleys,
etc.

Assuming I can get the parts from a salvage yard, is this something
that is completely unfeasible?

I'm wondering if doing something like this would be stupid- might be
way too expensive of a job to do right.

Taka
