[s-cars] is my AC dead?

First thing to do is have someone push the button for you while you're watching from the front. Look to see if the compressor engages for the brief moment that the light on the CC is on. If no, there are 2 typical mechanical causes... low charge, or bad/broken connection to your compressor.

First thing to check is the wire to the compressor. The connector is in a bad spot... near the Y in the headlight washer hoses... subject to "blue" corrosion. Make sure this is a good connection. Test for voltage there when you hit the button on the CC. I believe the wire is green... but not certain.

Another test you can run checks the compressor clutch... simply apply 12 volts to the previously mentioned connector. The clutch should engage.

If your A/C was working fine recently... I would suspect one of those 2 things.
HTH,
Dave

PS: I wish I needed to use my A/C right now.
