[s-cars] Windshield Wipers

All this talk about windshield wipers leads me to ask a question. My
driver's side wiper will not wipe the "top" of it's range clean even with
brand new wiper blades...I have tried 2 different kinds of blades and it
just kind of "smears" the top. Does this mean my spring that holds the
wiper to the glass could be shot? Thanks!

Subject: [s-cars] Windshield Wipers
Now that we are into the "slime" season here in Minnesnowta, I busted my
driver's side wiper assembly (natch). I noticed the assembly was creeping
out of the U-shaped hook at the end of the wiper arm and when I pulled it
appart to check it out, I broke the plastic clip that is supposed to keep
the blade assembly attached to the arm.
So, question #1, is the plastic clip available separately? The FA does not
show it as far as I could see.
Question #2, should I forget the cheap fix and spring for a new assembly
itself?
Thoughts?
