[s-cars] super tech brand synthetic oil - thoughts?

Tim,
I've switched most of my cars to synthetic since about 1979, probably
accounting for 700K miles or so. Volvos, Audis, Land Rovers, Mercedes,
ranging from brand new engines to ones that had, on average, 60-75K. The
Mercedes is both my most recent and highest mileage. I switched my S6 at
75K.
I did not switch a couple of cars in the early days of synthetic, namely a
couple of 4 cylinder (B20) Volvos that had 60-120K miles on them. The latter
one went through enough oil that it would have cost a fortune to use
synthetic :)
In all of that time I have not had a seal go on any of my cars...
Of course, YMMV.

Tim,
I've heard lots of *old* stories about that. At 180K miles I converted a
2.5L Mercedes turbodiesel to synthetic, and have not had a problem.
Do you know of *anyone* that has converted an engine in the past five years
to synthetic and had a problem?
