[s-cars] Poor gas mileage

Hey Sean,
We might as well be on opposite sides of the world!! I live in Moncton, NewBrunswick. You might remember me a bit better now. Dave Forgie responded to a question I had about what I should be looking for when I was shopping for a vaccum/boost gauge and he got you involved when he realized we both had 97's. (BTW I went with an Autometer Phantom 30mmHg/30PSI gauge and pillar mount)
I'll have to check with the dealer on the O2 sensor. Maybe it has been done but just not recorded in the records I have.
The car I bought was a local car and all service was done at either Dieppe auto (local) or the Audi dealer in Boston, Mass. The guy that owned it runs a couple of kitchen cabinet manufacturing plants and travelled monthly into the States to one of his shops (roughly a 10-12 hour drive) That's why the mileage is so high, but honestly it rides like a brand new car - 100% dealer maintained, stock, and owned by a 66 year old businessman. His new car is a silver 4.2 A6 w/ sport package.
I may have to look into the t'stat though. The car might take 5-10 minutes to reach 90 deg. I'm suprised that the dealer didn't "offer" to tack that on to the t-belt service though. The did the accessory belt, tensioner, water pump, idler and t-belt but never mentioned the thermastat.

at the t-belt time and it might as well be done then.
