Look at the climate control section. There was some discussion a
couple of years ago about poor quality of rebuilts.
Things change of course. I was told that the OEM zexel are no longer
available but these sold by arctic are Japanese
built (good) replacements. Mine was marked DCW17D instead of the
original DCW17B. The wholesale paperwork
from the importer was with mine. Ranshu in Reno, NV sold it
wholesale for $251 less chargeback credits for volume.
So, $500 is a little high for markup wouldn't you think?
The main sources available for a/c parts are
<www.hancockindustries.com> and <www.compressor-intl.com> .
Both can provide rebuilt compressors or rebuild yours if they don't
have any in stock. They supply driers also. Many
of the a/c parts books have the A6 drier shown in error. The quality
web photos show the difference in the port locations.
That said, it's the compressor making the noise, for sure now, and
not the fan ?
