I don't have anyway of posting it myself, but if anyone cares to host
it, I can share a couple of photos comparing a stock low beam vs. my
retrofitted '00/'01 Euro A6 HID that I took when I did my conversion a
couple of years ago. The aiming wasn't adjusted yet, but close enough.
I was just comparing light output. The scene is a view out of my garage
and across the driveway into the woods, on a rainy night. That's one of
the greatest benefits of HIDs in my viewpoint. The fact that you can
actually see on a rainy night.
The two photos are individual shots of the stock left side headlight,
and the HID retrofitted right side. Both photos taken under the same
exact exposure conditions. The stock Phillips bulbs are a 4100K color
temperature.
Should pretty much put to rest whether or not HIDs are worth it. I
would install them regardless of the cost, though my preference is using
factory parts.
