Billy boy. Try this p/n for the connector: 813 972 923
It's amazing how it's always the right side that decides to jump off the
car.
As for the black rings, you could always use a beartex/scotchbrite pad
to take the chrome off the rings or at least rough it up. Then paint
them with some matte black spray paint. Did that on the VW emblems on
my Corrado about 6 years ago and they're still looking good, though the
chrome is a lot thinner than on the Audis.
