[s-cars] on another note, IR remote no work

why not just wire in an alarm system so you can use
the RF remotes to control the factory alarm/locks?
that's what i did, and i haven't regretted that decision
at all.  even when the IR was working, the range was very
short and you had to be right next to the IR sensors for
the IR remotes to work.
