[s-cars] 5300k vs 6000k HID - Note from Andy

I was under the impression that the OEM's were 4300k, and give the most
light. The 5300k and 6000k will both be more bluish/purple, and have less
light output. Also, make sure you are getting either Phillips/Osram/GE
bulbs. Any other brands are just a waste of money (i.e. burn out rather
quickly). Here's a good link that explains just abut anything you'd want to
know about HID bulbs (where I got my info to buy replacements for my '00 A6
when an original D2S bulb burned out):

Subject: [s-cars] 5300k vs 6000k HID - Note from Andy

Apologies as I have read the previous posts and as a result went with the
5300k. Any *additional* comments on the 5300 vs 6000k? From reading
(certainly not understanding) 5300 gives the most light whereas the 6000k
will start to go a bit purple. Andy's comments below seem to contradict
that. Was I the only one to get this feedback from Andy?

Regards,

Mark

Hi,

Thank you for the prompt payment. Just want to make sure you do know that
you can upgrade your color temperature from 5300K to 6000K for additional $8
or even to 8000K if interested.

You may choose to take this upgrade offer by sending another paypal with the
subject "6K Upgrade" to the same paypal address.

For your reference:

5300K = White w/ yellowish (same as OEM color)

6000K = Pure white ($8 additional) (Factory Strongly Recommended)

8000K = White w/  bluish ($15 additional)

Thanks
