The the Sun's average color temperature (also the greatest light output of
the Sun) is around 5300 K. It happens to be
whitish Yellow. If you believe in evolution, and that we are visual
creatures, our eyes greatest sensitivity falls in the same
range. Hence, even IF there is more light output for the 6000K lamps, your
eyes won't benefit from it. In addition, the
bluer color of the higher temp bulbs tends towards tiring of the eyes
sooner.
http://www.danielsternlighting.com has a description about this, if you
want to know further, but for all intents and
purposes, you want to stay within the range of around 4500 to 5500 K to get
the greatest benefit. That's what I did.
LL - NY hoping that the HID's are an actual upgrade to the 9012/11's in the
car.
