The 6-spd W8 I test drove with a sport suspension was way too soft, well
for my liking anyway, but that can be rectified easily enough. The
bigger issue would be engine issues. Don't know how prevalent it is,
but I've included a post below from the VAG-COM list regarding the need
to pull the engine to replace cam position sensors. Ouch! But hey,
from what I hear replacement of the O2 sensors on the RS6 requires
removal of engine and transmission, so you'd be in good company. If you
go for it make sure you have a drivetrain warranty that will cover you
for a long, long time.

I have seen it a few times. I always replace both cam adjusters and all
cam gears. Engine has to be removed.

I've seen it twice now, engine pulled/cam positioners replaced both
times,
fixed both times.
