[s-cars] Ford coolant in an S6

Thanks all for your advices.

I finally took Paul's suggested route with a complete flush and Zerex G-05
refill. Long but easy.

The T-valve is ok. Looks almost new. I think they changed it during the head
gasket job last year.

So, at the end, the catastrophic failure is solved for 15 bucks. It must be
some kind of Chirstmas miracle ;-)

Vincent.

Vincent,

If you can thoroughly flush the system, I would personally
prefer to refill it with Zerex G-05 since it's commonly available,
Mercedes approved, and chemically similar to the orignal blue Audi
coolant.

If you can't flush the system, I would top it off with a red coolant
compatible with GM Dexcool, since it's an OAT (organic acid technology)
coolant similar to the ZVW 237 G12 red coolant.
Such coolants include Texaco Havoline, Prestone Extended Life, and
Zerex Extended Life.

The red Audi stuff is the same as Zerex G 30 (BASF Glysantiin G 30)
but even this is not very commonly available:

(select "Products" button, "Zerex", and then info sheet on G 30)
