[s-cars] intermittent oil temp gauge

Mine has been doing this off and on, no pun intended, for the last
couple of years. When it first started I noticed that it was related to
engine movement. With heavy throttle the gauge would cut out as the
motor rocked in its mounts. I checked out the connection at the sender
and while it looked okay, I pulled the wire closer to the sender to give
it some more slack. This did the trick. Though about a year later it
started up again. I tried moving the wire again and it seemed to work
though it occasionally comes back. Not sure what the problem is. Maybe
the crimp on the terminal, but I can't believe everyone is having that
problem. Maybe the wire is chafing somewhere along it's route.
Whichever it is, as far as mine is concerned it definitely doesn't seem
to be a problem at the gauge end.
