[s-cars] RF Remote operation sporatic - ign. switch?

Just a side comment on the ign. switch issue. After hearing many stories
about this thing, I bought a switch in a big buy I made from Blau, even
though I had NO symptoms. Replaced the switch, and almost immediately
started having very weird, random elec. issues. For instance, once started
car, flipped on the headlights, and car died. Once put key in, turned on
radio, and then tried to start car, nuttin. Turned off ignition, turned off
radio, restarted car, radio in "safe" mode.

Yes, I fully beleive that I installed the switch properly, and no damnit, I
did not save the "old" one, so I have not sent the switch back as being
defective. These strange issues only showed up after the switch, so I'm not
sure if I can blame some other gremlin. Also, such random issues that I
have not tried to look much further than just my suspicion that the switch
is funked.

Just sharing, as always YMMV.

Keith torsened,
"My RF remotes are becoming sporatic. I had both with me tonight - and
either they both work, or they both don't work. So I don't think
it's a matter of reception.
I don't think the remotes work when the ignition is ON - so I'm
wondering if this is the first symptom of my ignition switch biting
the dust?"

Keith ma'man,
Lots of questions here.
Why are you carrying both remotes to begin with?
Did they both not open?
Did they both not close?
Did one not open and one did?
Did one not close and one did?
It IS true that they do NOT work with the ignition on.
Some nameless "Eyetalian" must have unloaded this car on you complete with
the
"drive it in the river no escape package."
You've been bilked, fleeced, taken advantage of, conned, tricked,
hornschwaggled my friend.
Drop that car off down here in Chicago and be done with it.
OR try a new battery.
OR recode it.
Sometimes urS's temporarily lose their minds.

psfwiw I don't think this is your problem, but if you haven't
changed the ignition switch its not a bad $30 investment if it has
never been done.
