Curious if the failures are cause by using the sport shock (shorter shaft)
on regular springs or vise versa (using the HD shock with shorter springs),
either way I think problems will arise causing premature failure... or so
I've heard.

I had 2 pair of front bilstein failures on my 95 S6.
Switched back to stock boge and no problems since
