Another piece of cost saving advice I saw on MTV's "Pimp My Ride" was to 
repair a rusted hole in body work by simply globbing bondo into the hole, 
filling it up, then sanding it down.

So when your bumper need a good Krylon respray, or you see rust through your 
bodywork- do as I do- take the cheapest route.
