There were a handfull of I5's obd2 compliant, mainly the 96-up S6's which 
were made into 1997 I believe. They are very rare however. I also dont think 
that 12/31/95 was that critical, rather any car dubbed as a 1996 MY car had 
to have OBD-2 electronics.
