[s-cars] Bucking under full throttle, update

I would agree with you, Hap, except that I had the exact same thing happen
to me about 30k miles ago on my totally stock '92. My mechanic and I both
agreed that the plug looked fine, other than the fact that the positive
electrode had separated and was now "held" in place by the ground
electrodes. Of course, this is what caused the horrible rough running and
resulted in my wife taking it to the mechanic as it was pretty undriveable.
Of course, what happens is that the electrode basically shorts out the coil
as it "frees" itself which toasts the coil. I believe that these spark
plugs are either lousy quality or the previous owners are going too long
without changing plugs...of course that probably means that when you buy a
used car you should just change them, period :)

Harold

What sort of mods do you have? The missing electrode is typically a lean
running engine. HTH.

Hap, wit dakine thoughts from Evahboost, Maguire
