He might be able to recommend someone closer to the car, or if it looks like
a go, arrange to get the car to him for a look over.  Seems like he would
have pretty good credentials to do a through look over.  

Otherwise, have you taken a look through the rest of the California
recommendations on http://www.audifans.com/mechanic.php ?  Maybe there is
some one else closer.
