[s-cars] leaking headliner? where is the water coming from?

Because the sunroof fabric "seal" is notintended to be a water tight
seal. Notice
it's fabric. It's job is to cut down wind noise and keep out leaves, insects
and other larger debris. Notice on Saab 99's and 900's (70's - 80's) they
didn't even bother with the fabric seal. Open or closed the intent is the 
rain is caught in the gutter and is supposed to go out the drains. My 
vote is your sunroof drains are plugged. Use compressed air if you have
it, or long stiff wire. Usually clogs at the bottom.
