Theuns,
The '92-'97 Audi S4-S6 fuel filter uses typical banjo fittings.
To replace the fuel filter on your A3, the feed/return lines use simple (and
fragile) snap-lock fittings. Simply depress the lock ring clip to remove
the hard line. When you slip the line back on to your replacement fuel
filter, it should "lock" in place. If not, massage the lock clip "up" with
a small pick. DO NOT attempt to lift out the lock clip, as it will break
the snap-lock fitting.

Subject: [s-cars] Audi A3 18T fuel filter fittings
I know this is a S-car list but I cant find a A3 Audi list. My 1998 A3
have very modern looking fuel line(hard plastic) to fuel filter fittings
that looks like they have clips that retains the line to the filter. In
the engine bay its the usual pinch type clamps, but at the back the hard
type plastic fuel line makes them redundant. Does your cars have these
clips and how do I get them off and back on without destroying them?
Regards
T
