[s-cars] ITS TO4E Smoking

Brian and Gang,
Smoking appears to be coming from the engine bay. In particular
if you look at this picture where the center section and the hot-side
section mate:
http://www.worldsbeer.com/urs4/P1010029.JPG you can see the burnt oil.

Also found that on the oil return line that the flange that mates to the
center section was not totally flat thus leaking a bit:

I have removed the flange and filed flat...boy that was fun!

Questions:
-1) Is it ok to mount that flange back up using Ultra Grey RTV sealant?
The gasket that was there was removed and broke in half in the process.
Or should I "walk" to NAPA to find another gasket? Combination of the
two?
-2) Where the Center Section to hot-side mate..is that a classic area
where the bearings would leak to the hot-side?

Any other thoughts besides "upgrading" to a GT30??

Cheers

Cody

Silly me. I forgot to ask, where is it smoking from?
Exhaust or engine bay just because oil got on the hotside? If exhaust
then it's seals/restrictor issues, if ebay then my bet it's what I've
alredy discussed.
;-)
