I try and get my yamaha Fz1 on the track a few weekends per summer. I'm
a two wheel guy for the weekends. I do a lot of test driving for vehicle
stability control systems during the week, so I like the bikes for a
change of pace. Also 140 hp with a 450 lb bike makes for great fun.
Sliding in a car is nice, but riding a bike on the track is a real
thrill. Just can't recover from slides so easily ;-)
I was monitroing the list for gear whine, and it seems like some cars
that had it had problems, while other cars that had noise really didn't
have catastrophic issues. I'll short shift first for now.

I wonder if the "Motor Hunny" people make anything for transmissions ???

Strong factory 16's are the way to go around here for the winter. And
never less than a 50 series tire. This was a large reason why I kept
my forged 16's from the 93 S4 for winter tires, when I swapped to a
95.5 S6 (and sold the Avus's with the S4...). At that point just make
sure you have tires with a good sidewall, decent tire pressure, and
road hazard insurance. :-)
So what are you going to be driving on the tracks? I assume not the
UrS4 since you mention its a commuter..
