[s-cars] Crank Case Pressure and Turbo Smoke?

Sorry totally agree that there is vacuum in that hose, how could there
not be? The filter and the maf are resistors in this circuit, and the
engine and turbo are sucking thru them. Autospeed spells this out quite
clearly.

Totally agree, and the oil guy's will tell you that contaminating the
intake gasses with crank case vent is a problem.. i.e. it contaminates
the oil and causes premature breakdown. Crank case vent into the intake
stream isn't good for any motor, or it's oil. The only benefit that I
can see is that it's a cheap way to get vacuum, so there may be a
performance benefit there, also as the motor goes bad..and starts to
vent more i.e. get more blow by, it is accounted for by the maf. This
way an old motor will still have good programming seeing as all the
gasses are still accounted for by the maf..at least at idle, because I
believe your maf isn't contributing anything other than a full 5v signal
much past 300hp or so, rs2 or stock.

It is supposed to flow into the turbo inlet... any crankcase pressure is

supposed to be relieved by this flow.

It is designed to pull gases through the intake stream. The crankcase
can

effectively be vented to atmosphere. Recycling it through the intake is
a means

of lowering pollution. There is almost always a vacuum in the turbo to
MAF

hose. This is where the WGFV also gets vacuum to hold your wastegate
shut

under boost.
