Having run both an RS2 and RS2/K27 Hybrid, I have noticed:
-the K27 compressor keeps the high boost longer before the onset of
heat-soak. As such, the intake charge is, relatively, cooler.
-If I could track down the boost map, I am sure the K27 efficiency at higher
boost loads (26+) would never put the compressor into overspin.
-higher horsepower potential (head gasket and rods be damned...);
displacement potential is currently in the works.
Lag threshold is around 3800; you are virtually off-boost around town,
unless you play the rev game.
