I used MT-90 in my 200, which recovered the synchros that I thought
I screwed up by using Mobil 1 75W-90 supposed GL4/5. I chose the MT-90
over the MTL, since it meets the factory recommended viscosity range.
IF you drive
hard or intend to track the car, I'd go with the heavier weight oil,
which will leave
a thicker film on the gearsets at at the bearing journals, which would
be crucial
in hard use for proper hydrodynamic lubrication. Also, the greater the
HP output
you intend to use, the more you want a thicker oil film.

I have also found that the MT-90 shifts perfectly fine (like, I notice
no difference all year long) even in rather cold environments, of
which I've been experiencing lately, like -4 to -10 degrees F. In
otherwords, I'd return the 70W-80 and go with MT-90, especially since
you're in a warm enough area that you really don't need the lighter
weight oil anyway.
