[s-cars] Are all urS wheels created equal?

Gents,

I was moving some stuff around in the garage the other day when I noticed
something odd:  The original wheels that came on my 1995.5 S6 have no bead
detail on the very tip.

For comparison, here's the wheel that is on the car now, with the lip:

Note that the very edge of the wheel where a wheel weight would clip is
missing off the urS6 wheel in the first pick.

Both sets of wheels have been given a poor man's refinish, but I doubt that
the lip of the was machined off.  I have never seen this before.  Does
anyone else have a lipless rim?  Did Audi Use different vendors?  Anyone?
