I got my '94 100 S Avant (C4 body, V6 engine) cheap because it had a 
dead ECU.  The plenum under the hood was clogged with pine needles, 
which blocked the drain, which let water follow the wiring harness down 
onto the ECU.  I spent a couple hours splicing a used harness into the 
old one.  Plugged in a used ECU, and it's been fine for 10K miles.

Check the condition of the wires at the connector.  Mine were all
corroded, a few so bad they were broken away from the connector.
