Interesting  thread. 
As I tend to agree  with Jerry- that it _probably_ is not the battery, a 
similar experience a few  years ago, albeit with a different marque, may shed an 
interesting light on the  issue. 
I had a Dodge Stealth  Twin turbo that in only it’s second year started, but 
would die after a few  miles. That car was _very_ techno-intensive and was 
very sensitive to any dip in  voltage supplied to the computer. A new battery 
took care of the  issue. 
Just out of warranty  of course. 
Other than the battery  issue it was a kick ass year round AWD car.
