This is one of the best mods I've ever done to my car. I also shortened the 
shift lever 1 1/2" and all told I have a 40% reduction in throw. It has the 
ultimate snick, snick feel when shifting. The reduction in the side to side slop 
was an added bonus. You end up with a brand new lever assembly along with the 
short shift mod. I did have the Amoroso, "I'm talkin lead shoes here, Baby", 
lead filled shaft mod done as well. HTH.
