Hap shared this with us years back in his predahkine days, he kindly 'lead'
me down this road (pun intended) tho I didn't cut shifter.  The shift feel
is *amazingly better*.  One of the best things he's shared with us over the
years (and one of the ones some of us can / will actually bother with).  And
one of my favorite parts of driving this car

And I'd consider it an extreme injustice and disservice for one to do the
SSK and not have her wear them lead shoes.  Actually, the weight (coupled
with new bushing) is likely much much more notable than any 'reduction' the
kit offers.  I measured, IIRC it was like 5/8", not much.  But oh the feel.
Esp. on a rebuilt box.  Esp. esp. on a rebuilt 6 spd. box.  Esp. esp. esp.
shifting it just after shifting the Ur4kq (slop and notch city)...
