I had the same problem when I installed my Valeos a while back. I also 
installed them on my wife's '01 A6 4.2. I did notce that My wife's newer car had 
more pressure on the wiper arm at the windshield. I pulled my wiper arm off the 
car and worked on the spring to increase the tension. A pair of pliers was used 
to bend the spring material and thus increase the tension. That spring 
material is very tough and it did require a hefty set of pliers and torque to get 
the job done. HTH.
