Adam - a flow rate isn't very helpful without specifying a pressure at which
the flow was determined - i.e., RS2 injectors have been independently tested
by RC Engineering as flowing @ 360 cc/min at 3 bar (or @ 43.51 psi) of fuel
pressure.
What pressure is Fuelinjectorsdirect 444 cc/min is arrived at? To get a 360
cc/min @ 3bar injector to flow 444 cc/min I believe you'd have to run a line
pressure close to 100psi or 6.9 bar. That's rather a lot of pressure. Are
you sure fuelinjectorsdirect is talking about the same RS2 injectors? Any
idea how they come up with the 444 cc/min flow rate figure?
There may be other differences between the Bosch and Lucas/RC/Delphi
injectors. The Bosch injectors, so far as I know, are almost universally
"pintal" type. The Lucas, I think, are of a "disk" actuator design type.
There are arguments going both ways over different advantages/drawbacks each
design type may offer. I believe the "disk" design is claimed by some of
its proponents to be less susceptible to pressure and capable of delivering
more fuel, or perhaps it's more accurately metered fuel at higher rpm &/or
higher pressure levels. One resource to look at is some of Jeff Lucius

Has anyone ever bought injectors from this place before?

I'm currently looking for a low cost alternative to the RS2 injectors.
I know some people use the Delphi-Lucas injectors from Racetronix,
but I think the flow rate is slightly different.
Anyway, I sent an email to Fuelinjectorsdirect.com and asked them if
they carried the Bosch RS2 injector (0 280 150 984). They don't carry
that specific injector, but they do said they they can re-manufactur a
Bosch high-resistance injector to flow at the same rate (444 cc/min)
with a lifetime warranty. They are about $60 per injector, which is a
lot cheaper than the RS2 injectors (around $100).
Anyone have any bad expereinces with injector shops like this one that
build injectors to spec ?
Thanks in advance.
