EGT guidelines? was Re: [s-cars] NAC? - Towing Capacity Figures

It depends on exactly where the thermocouple is mounted.  Mine is right 
before the OXS in the top of the downpipe.  I try to not exceed 850 C.  I 
don't usually get even near that figure (more like 650-750) unless I'm 
REALLY on the loud pedal and then I'll see 830 to 840 or so every now and 
then.  Much above that and you risk burning valves, etc.  The EGT was one 
guide for adjusting fuel mixtures back during chip development activities.
