I had a '93 Miata. Everything you say is true. But a few trips
between NC and NH and you will long for the long highway legs of
an Audi. I did make one of those long runs with the top down;
it didn't improve the ride.
I got rid of the Miata when I realized that when I was on a long
highway trip in the Miata, I'd rather be in the Audi. And when
I was on a nice twisty back road in the Miata, I'd rather be on
my motorcycle.
