I agree, Fred. I don't bother with the torque wrench, but if care is taken
when installing the plug, removal is not a problem. Mine comes right out
every time with a box end wrench. It goes back in the same way. I snug it;
not tight, snug.

Ummm, guys, if you use a torque wrench to tighten the drain plug to the
specified 22 ft-lb you will never have this problem. I had the tight drain
plug on my first oil change. I installed a new one and have torqued it ever
since. It has come loose using an ordinary ratchet handle at 8000 km
intervals for the past 150,000 km.
