[s-cars] Eibach spring question for 1529.140E kit

Hi S-heads,

I'm about to embark upon a comprehensive replacement of most of the
suspension bushings and worn components on my '93 S4, so I figured now
would be a good time to install a sport suspension also.

I've had sitting in my basement for a couple of years now the "2nd
generation" Eibach 1529.140 sport springs, the so called "E"
designation: p/n 1527.001 Front, 1517.002 Rear.

The 1517.002 rear springs are longer than the later 1529.002 rear
springs (which leave the car sitting 1cm too low), and longer than the
even later 1516.002 rear springs (which also may leave the rear 1cm too
low also from what I understand).

I've read from various sources that the 1517.002 rear springs were
either originally intended for the Avant or were a mix up of European
model line numbers. I'm not sure which is correct, or if they both
are.

In any case, in my research I've read that these rear springs leave the
rear of a sedan S-car sitting anywhere from 1cm to 5cm too high,
depending upon source.

Has anyone installed these springs, and if so what was your ride hight
like?

Are there any problems or things to look out for when installing them on
the sedan aside from ride hight?

Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Also, if anyone has a spare set of Bilstien Sport dampers or 2Bennett
camber plates they'd like to get rid of, or knows a good source for the
dampers in Canada, I'd like to hear about it.

Thanks!
