Not required, but recommended. List wisdom says that the stock manifold
does not remove excess heat from all cylinders and head overheating can
occur.

The RS2 is a good compromise, still decent torque down low and good
power at the top end. Hybrids and others such as Garrett have less
bottom end, but super strong top end. I you are looking to track your
car on a regular basis, then go with a hybrid. If you are street
driving, then RS2 is best choice.

Since you have the head off, and if you have the $$$, then a RS2 exhaust
cam will restore some of the lost bottom end.

Depends on the software. Off the shelf SW, only works with the RS2
injectors. If you go with custom programming, then you can use the 37
lb/hr injectors made by Delphi/Lucas.

The MTM SW will work, but is not optimized for the new turbo and
injectors and you will leaving some HP on the table. Again, depends on
what hardware you choose.
