Hi Y'all,
For a while now my RS2ed urS6 has not been performing up to RS2 spec. The
boost gauge has been showing a maximum boost level of only 17-18 psig
instead of the 28 I have become accustomed to. :-( This morning I finally
managed to find time to pressurize the intake system and heard a leak
escaping from the vicinity of the WGFV. I could feel a somewhat diffuse
jet of air coming from the WGFV area. OK, it's time to start dismantling
things to find the leak. I pulled the WGFV along with two of the three
hoses which attach to it. Closely inspecting these hoses and the WGFV
itself I find no holes anywhere.
Has anyone experienced a leak from the WGFV itself?
Meanwhile... back under the hood to pull the last of the three hoses so I
can inspect it as well.
OK, a more complete report. The third hose is the one which connects to
the low pressure side - part of the hose connecting the MAF to the turbo
cold side inlet. 1. This hose feels OK. 2. It looks OK. 3. It's on
the low pressure side and therefore should not be costing me 10 psig of
boost even if it were leaking like a sieve.
Suggestions?
Bob
