No.
I have textars w 993 calipers and rotors without the vibration dampers
and have never had a hint of squeal, though I wouldnt be opposed to
it.
Those dampers are stuck on to the pads and are suppose absorb squeal
for the 911 tiptronic country club set ... I think.  "Buffy! What ever
is that horrible noise?"  Besides,
Pizzo recommends squeal.
