Speaking of brakes in Ohio,

That squealing sound from west of here freaked out
some suicidal squirrel the other day who caused me to
stomp on my quiet-at-least-in-the-summer big reds only
to find my pedal nearly hit the floor.  yikes.

that *slight* bulge in one rear (wrenched, not
switched over to steel as intended during last rear
brake pad change) rubber line evidently have turned
into something grotesque.  glad to find out with the
rodent rather than the tree in which it lived -- i
mean lives.  still had enough pressure to stop me in
time!

My mechanic with proper cutting tools just phoned me
to say all is well and stainless lines are on with a
nice firm middle pedal once again.
