[s-cars] KY recall

I had the dreaded fuel line back in '97. It was squirting fuel right at
the turbo, but only in extreme cold. I had it fixed at the dealer with
a different looking part to the tune of $600 (they pulled the steering
rack), and eventually convinced AofA (out of warranty) to reimburse me
based on it being a safety issue, armed with proof from fellow listers
that theirs had been covered as well. I also wrote the feds. A few
months later the recall letter came and I asked the service advisor if
my previous repair qualified, he said he didn't know and we should do
the recall anyway. I declined, and 8 years and 150,000 miles later the
first repair is working fine. I received another letter last week,
called AofA and got the same answer, they didn't know so we ought to do
it. I think the first repair solved the problem.
I you have the original line, get it fixed, either by you or them.
They were prone to catastrophic failure, a few cars actually did catch
fire.
