A clarification;
If one were to use the 314 mm rotor, then the caliper would need to
moved 4 mm *inward* towards the center of the hub. This would require
machining 4 mm off the mounting face of the bracket, which IMHO would
jeopardize the strength of the bracket.
To center the 30 mm rotor within the caliper, the caliper requires to be
moved 1 mm out, which would require machining 1 mm off the face, half of
the difference between 32 and 30 mm.

Yes, the big blacks fit under my 17" wheels easily (A6, 4.2 sport
forged, 17x8, 30 mm offset).
