One more thing. Here's the link (www.soundgate.com) to a company that
makes line output converters which allow you to use an aftermarket
head unit along with factory amplified speaker systems. I have never
used one, and have never heard of anyone who has, but when I was in
your position about 2 years ago this was a major consideration. I
didn't do it because I didn't believe the sound could ever be as good
as rewiring the system from scratch, and similarly, because I knew
that the special equilization Bose uses on each speaker to create
their unique sound would be lost/screwed up. If I were you I might try
the product from soundgate and see what its like, but be fully
prepared to redo everything if the soundgate product has poor results.
