[s-cars] Alternator Musings

Per the electrical engineer wannabe part of my brain.
These symptoms are indicative of a poor ground.
A few years ago, my 911 didn't like generating electricity but would start
and run fine UNTIL it heated up (raises resistance?) and would die. The
final straw was coming home from golf one Saturday just tooling along when
it just slowly died (picture the red alfa out of gas in the Graduate.)
Oh so I put in a new alternator... no small feat and it still didn't work.
I must have crossed wires.... 2nd install same thing.
Come on I must have done something wrong... 3rd install same thing.
After two weeks of on and off internet research I stumbled upon the
problem.. a gunked up ground wire, transmission to chassis.
Cleaned it, reattached, voila!
Hey it's usually something stupid right?
Sorry, I don't know all the ground points to check on the urS.
