Bob, sounds exactly the way mine reacted a few years ago... for me it was the switch, opened it up cleaned the contacts and resoldered the wires (for safety) and have not had any problem since... except this morning when that f'ing panel fell on my head and almost caused me to have an accident!!! Grrr....

Subject: [s-cars] Sunroof Stuck Open
I opened up the sunroof when I went out for lunch today and noticed a slight click at the end of travel. Thought nothing of it as I just figured it was the shade panel being pushed back, but when I went to close it, it stayed in the open position.
If I try to close it there will be a very slight forward movement, then the motor shuts off when it reaches what I assume is a thermal or amperage limit. It's only a second or two. Trying to open it further results in the same action, only it moves slightly rearward. Tried tugging slightly on the panel while trying to close it but no dice. So drove home and swapped cars as we're expecting some heavy thunderstorms this afternoon.
Before I dig into this, does anyone have any previous experience with this? I'm hoping it's the switch, but it sounds more like an overtravel situation and now the roof is stuck, meaning I'll have to take down the headliner.
TIA
Bob
