The key to any good bond is surface preparation.  If all you did is put the spring clip back in place, then place epoxy over it and the surrounding area, it will never hold.  Especially epoxies which are typically poor in peal strength.  Also, if you have an Ecru or Platinum interior, these will have a painted panel (well at least Ecur does) and if you don't remove the paint the epoxy will just peal it away and the bond joint will fail.

You need to abrade the entire area where you're going to have epoxy with something like a ScotchBrite pad.  Then wipe down with alcohol.  You'll also need a good high strength/high temp epoxy.

Total cost $0.  Holding for 2 years now.
